Saints Coastal Regatta 2025

The University of St Andrews Boat Club and Saints Sport are pleased to announce the 2025 edition of the Saints Coastal Regatta.

The 2025 Saints Regatta took place over 12-13 April at East Sands Beach in St Andrews, marking a major milestone for the University of St Andrews Boat Club.

Hosting an event of this scale was a significant undertaking, but thanks to the hard work and dedication of club members, the regatta ran smoothly and was a great success for all visiting crews.

Spanning two days, the Saints Regatta is set to be one of the largest coastal rowing events in the UK this season and served as the first selection event for the GB Rowing Team.

The competition drew 120 entries across a variety of events, with the standout category being the Mixed Double (Beach Sprints), which saw 24 fiercely contested entries. UStABC had an impressive showing, with four doubles reaching the quarter-finals. Three of those were knocked out by eventual medallists—underscoring the high calibre of the event, as each of the top four crews featured athletes from last year’s GB Rowing Team.

Despite the added pressure of hosting, St Andrews managed to field entries in every event. One of the weekend’s standout moments came in the Mixed Quad, where UStABC crews delivered a dominant performance to take both first and second place. In the semi-finals, they overcame strong opposition from Glasgow and Stirling, setting up an all-St Andrews final.

During the endurance events on the Sunday St Andrews saw wins in the M1x, Mix 4x/+ and a 3rd place finish in the Mixed 2x to close the weekend of racing.
